Certified Public Accountant Dallas AlternativeWhat we do not sign
If a bank or a buyer wants an opinion, that signature is given somewhere else.
See the limit
The signature that stays outside
Some signatures promise an opinion to a stranger. We do not give that signature. When someone needs a signature that speaks to a stranger, the first call names the practice that can give it. The work that stays with us is closing each month, connecting payday to the books, and preparing the return you sign.
We would rather lose a glamorous sentence than blur that line. You should know it before you tell a lender we are the ones who will sign their form. We will not be.
The disclosures page draws the same line in the section that has to be exact. This page is the ordinary version, the one you can read without a statute beside you.
The reserved half, said as a list
Audits, reviews, compilations, examinations of forecast figures, agreed upon procedures, and any report that gives a reader assurance about a set of statements stay outside this practice. A licence signs those. Nothing else may.
Find the verb on the form. Opine, attest, examine, and report on put you in that reserved half. Prepare, provide, submit, and furnish put you in the half we do. The person you want in that second half is whoever can explain how each month was closed.
If the form in front of you uses one of the reserved verbs, say so in the first note. We will name a practice that can sign it. The months can still close here while that signature lives somewhere else.
The ordinary half, which is most of the year
Closing the month, squaring the bank and the cards and the notes, building the return off those books, sales tax, the report that falls due in May, owner pay, payroll setup, an S election, answering a notice, and reading the year while the year can still change. That is the work most owners actually wanted when they came looking for the title.
All of that happens here. None of it needs the reserved signature. It is also the shape of this site, so the monthly close, the books, and the return each have a page of their own.
Breadth is that the months, the filings, and the return come from the same practice, so none of them have to be squared with each other afterwards. Height is the read given in the open part of the year, by the same people who closed February.
What remains here
Reconciled cash, categories you recognize, statements you can hand to a partner, and a return built from those months. That is a full year of work. It is the work most owners actually need in a normal year. The missing signature is a special document, not the absence of the monthly work.
Payday stays yours to approve. A notice that asks for records gets those records from months already closed, gathered with you. We do not appear in your place at an examination.
If you only needed the opinion and you do not need the months, we are the wrong call, and we will say that. If you need the months and also, later, an opinion, we can keep the months while someone else signs the opinion.
A bridge and a book value
When you see the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, opened in 2012, you see the span, and we wonder what the books would carry a bridge like that at now.
You get the view. We get the question about life, value, and what a set of books would say after the years since it opened. That question is the same one we ask about a building you actually own. The span itself is not our photograph and not our client. The habit of asking is the work.
We are not going to pretend a cup on this page is the bridge. The sentence is the local one. The picture is a cup, because the cup is what we had that was honest. The wink still lands on the books.
How we say it in the first call
If your note mentions a lender, a sale, or a form that asks for an opinion, we answer that part first. There is no use planning a monthly close if the thing you needed was a signature we will not give. You get that answer in plain words.
If the note is about open months and payday, we do not spend the call on signatures you did not ask about. The limit is there when it matters. It is not a speech we make instead of listening.
Read how these pages are made for the exact section. Read the reports page for what a management report can be when it promises no opinion.
A clean split
Owners get stuck when one firm wants the opinion work and treats the monthly books as a leftover. We are built the other way. The months are the work. The opinion, when a deal needs one, has its own home.
You can hire both and keep them distinct. You can hire only us. You should not have to guess which signature is on the table. We will name it.
The form on this page is for that naming. A sentence is enough. If you would rather talk, pick a time and say in the note that a signature is the question.
Ask about the signature
Tell us which document a bank or a buyer asked for.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
