Certified Public Accountant Dallas AlternativeReports you can read
We prepare reports from closed months, and we do not put an opinion on them.
Read the reports
A report is a reading of the months
A report you can read is a financial statement, a short monthly reading, or both, pulled from months that already match the bank. The page shows receipts, spending, and the item that is still unresolved, in ordinary words. It does not pretend to be an opinion for a stranger.
We keep the words ordinary. If a line needs a gloss, the gloss is a sentence, not a code. You should be able to hand the page to a partner and have a conversation, not a translation session.
When a month is not ready, it stays out of the report. We will not average an open month into a calm page. Calm is earned by the close, which is described on the monthly close page.
What we will not print on the cover
We do not print a word that means a formal opinion. The page is a management report. If someone needs the other kind of page, that request belongs on the limit page, and the signature is given somewhere else.
This is the split owners actually live with. You can have numbers you trust without having a document that makes a promise to a bank. Both exist in the world. Only one of them is offered here.
If a template you were given uses a heavier word, bring it and we will say what we can sign and what we will rewrite into a plain report. You should see the difference before a lender does.
A December weekend
When the December marathon fills a weekend, we feel that weekend the way you do, and December still has to close before the return is prepared.
A city full of runners is a good weekend. It is also a weird week for receipts, for staffing, for a shop near the course, for anyone whose Monday disappeared. The course is a pleasure we share with anyone who likes a loud December Saturday, and Monday's receipts still need a category before that month can be put away.
Your December may have nothing to do with a race. Year-end is still a month. We treat it like the other eleven, only with less patience for leaving it open out of holiday habit.
Statements and the shorter page
Some readers want the full financial statements. Some want one page that says whether the month behaved. We can do both from the same closed months. They should not contradict each other. If they do, we are not done.
Reconciliations sit underneath, even when they do not sit on the cover. You can ask to see them. We would rather show the tie-out than ask you to take the cash number on faith.
The return, when it comes, uses these same months. That page explains why we refuse to start the return on a report we do not believe yet.
Who the page is for
Tell us if the reader is you, a partner, a lender who does not need an opinion, or a manager who only wants the odd numbers. The page changes with the reader. The honesty of the month does not.
We will not add a chart for decoration. A number that matters gets a sentence. A number that does not matter stays off the page. Short is a kindness when the month was real.
If you want this as part of the monthly work, say so in the note. Reports can ride with the close, or they can be the thing you ask for after a few months are already finished. Both are normal.
Ask for the reading
Say who will read the report, and which month you last trusted.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
